WEEKLY NEWS 2!!

“A STUDENT who lost her leg in the Alton Towers roller coaster smash says the theme park’s boss told her they were losing ‘a lot of money’ in the wake of the smash which left four people badly hurt

This was in the news recently as Alton towers decide to reopen the ride after it crashed on the 2nd of June. After only a few months after the accident, the theme park wants to reopen the “Smiler” as they have been “losing customers and money”.
Personally, I think that the ride should not be reopened until they find out exactly what caused the accident in the first place. This means that they could potentially prevent another accident like this from happening again. After one of the victims of the accident spoke to the bosses, they revealed the ride was going to reopen as they are losing money. I don’t think this is right as people have been injured seriously and all Alton towers seem to care about is money. This gives a bad impression on the theme park.

Going to Alton Towers previously, a few months before, I thought that the best ride was the “Smiler” and this is probably the same for others. I am not saying that the ride should never reopened, but I think they have a duty to make sure that the ride is 100% safe and that they find out what happened before they open the ride.

Obviously a business like Alton Towers is there to make a profit, so they want to open the ride as soon as possible. But Alton Towers should take the time to fix problems rather than trying to ignore them.
