WEEKLY NEWS 27!!

77 killed in Ecuador earthquake which measured 7.8.

BBC news reported on a series of Earthquakes that have happened in Ecuador and Japan. There were two earthquake in Japan, on Thursday and Saturday killing 44 people. In Ecuador the one earthquake killed 77 people and injured over 500 people. BBC news repots that people are scared of another big earthquake causing further damage and tragedies although they have said that the threat of a tsunami has passed. The earthquake in Ecuador was the biggest it has had since 1979. Emergency services are still searching for survivors within the rubble and have saved some people. With this the death and injury rate is more likely to rise.

The reason why this is important to be put in the news is because it is a major event which massively impacts Ecuador and Japan but also other countries as it has been declared as a state of emergency. Due to the Earthquakes power lines and phones are down and also a big oil refinery has shut down which could have major impacts. Although countries like Ecuador and Japan are used to getting Earthquakes it is still a major issue because they cause so much harm and they affect the world not only the county.
