BBC news reported on the floods that have destroyed peoples homes in Cumbria. Cumbria faced flooding earlier on this year and have now suffered a second one. People's homes have been badly affected by the flooding as some people have said that it is the worst they have ever seen.
Flood defense systems were put in place but the flooding was so bad that it managed to get past the defenses causing massive amounts of damage. Heavy rain has still brought more flooding after it was hit by storm Desmond, causing the banks to over spill.
I think that people need to know about news similar to this as people want to help others who are facing the situation. People want to find out ways to help so that they can try and improve the problem. In my opinion I think that the defense systems should have been stronger and people should have been more prepared because Cumbria have seen floods like this before, so they should want to do everything they can to stop it from happening again.

I like how you have a strong opinion on the news and agree defences do need to be improved due to Cumbria being very prone to severe floods, to improve you could include facts on the damage that has been caused in order to make you're report even more interesting for the reader. :)
